Hi, I'm Arjun Vishwanath. I currently serve as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University in the political science department and the Center for Effective Lawmaking. In the 2024-2025 academic year, I will join Boston University's political science department as an assistant professor.

My research focuses on representation in American politics. I am developing a book project that examines substantive representation through the lens of political values. Some of my other research focuses on the effects of campaign finance and electoral institutions on representation. My work has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science and Studies in American Political Development. 

I received my PhD from Harvard University in Government in 2023 and my BA from Swarthmore College in Political Science and Mathematics in 2016.
